First Microfinance And Health Protection (MAHP) Global Meeting in October

Freedom from Hunger's global initiative to add new health protection services to microfinance programs is well under way. MAHP expands our successful Credit with Education service to include new health protection services that will reach more women and address multiple health needs for families living in poverty. MAHP partners, staff and resource people will gather in San Francisco October 9 through 11 to meet each other and build collaborative relationships that will aid in implementation of the services. The meeting will also serve as a forum to explore initial service ideas that arose from now-complete market research in each of the partner countries: India, the Philippines, Burkina Faso, Bolivia and Benin. Over the three-day meeting, Freedom from Hunger program staff, independent researchers, and representatives from each of our in-country partners will identify a cohesive, innovative service package for development and implementation by each MAHP partner. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which funded the initiative, is sending two representatives to participate in the meeting.
