Technical Assistance
Freedom from Hunger has found that organizations learn more effectively and sustainably when training is accompanied by technical assistance. Our approach to technical assistance is highly customized to the needs, objectives and constraints of each organization, which demands adaptable listening, analysis and design skills on our part. The technical assistance relationship typically evolves through distinct phases as problems are solved and new opportunities arise. The relationship may last a few months to more than a decade and usually evolves into a partnership for joint innovation and mutual learning.
As always, money is needed to start and maintain a technical assistance relationship, typically from third-party funds, often from multiple donors over time or at the same time.
The following are examples of our technical assistance, joint innovation and mutual learning relationships:
CARD—paragraph on the duration and type of work done and products produced together
CRECER—paragraph …
RCPB—paragraph…
FINCA Peru—paragraph …
Other—paragraph …
Such long-term relationships may start as multi-year partnerships, as in all these cases, or with a short-term project for training or trouble-shooting technical assistance. We welcome expressions of interest, directed to a member of Freedom from Hunger’s technical staff or to programs@freedomfromhunger.org or one of our regional offices, especially when there is preference to communicate in French or Spanish.
